Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

I really hope that the threats hit different places and don't mow over the same. Don't need the infrastructural challenges.
This was definitely an issue on 4/27/11 with the overnight/early morning round knocking out a lot of cell towers and power lines in W AL before the main event started.

(Not that I am saying this setup/outcome is similar to 4/27/11!)

I will say it was a bit jarring to hear Trey’s live reaction to a sounding from Saturday. Not to mention when he saw the LLLRs. He’s pretty conservative and doesn’t hype stuff up.
I don’t really watch weather update videos, since I know enough about meteorology to be confident in what could happen.

But yea, there’s definitely a different vibe regarding the Mets to this event.

Honestly I haven’t seen wording like this since march 31/april 1 2023.

Are there really people who don't know where their "safe place" is for a storm? I can envision a "family meeting" on the night before storms where the dad has a white board out and a pointer with a diagram of the house and the kids are all listening to him while holding a stuffed animal.
Last year I called a buddy in Michigan to warn him a possibly substantial tornado was in the area. He said he and his friends were in a garage drinking beer and casually watching the storms. Does that answer your question

At least they are watching and aware. They're doing better than most.

12z GFS is a touch more progressive, bringing all of AL under the highest EHI values and including parts of the Georgia as well.
Most models have been keeping GA out of the main risk area, but CSU's machine learning model kept the them in the threat zone.

Just wanted to point out that SPC moved the ENH area further west into GA recently. Do not be surprised if this happens again between now and Saturday.
