Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

An overnight event is never good no matter what night of the week it happens. However, with round one being late Friday night into the predawn hours of Saturday, at least many of us won’t have to go to work the next day and can stay up all night tracking the severe weather if necessary. Maybe after round one we can all take a short nap before round two Saturday afternoon.

Someone please tell me this isn't actually happening and it's normal for the NAM to blow soundings way out of proportion. Reminds me of the infamous James Spann quote, "I thought the STP only went to 10!?"
This is a contaminated sounding, the omega values displayed on the left side of the vertical profile from the PBL to mid levels are amped, which means the sounding is in the vicinity or inside convection.

Speak for yourself, I have a 9 am tee time up in Maryland. I’m gonna have to trust y’all to hold down the fort.

Also finally getting to Trey’s videos and he seems to be joining the chorus of normally-conservative voices who are sounding the alarm for Saturday.

Yeah this concerns me, if they’re sounding the alarms, you better get prepared or get out.

Central MS has resigned itself from existence:
Look I don’t have a problem with you posting soundings, but that’s a weird phrase about central MS. We have people on this board from Mississippi. I mean come on, this isn’t Twitter or discord, and I really don’t want it to be.

Edit: and I don’t want to come across as harsh because I think you’re on the younger side, but the phrasing just isn’t good.

Is this going to be one of the most severe weather events ever for the middle of March?

No, that would probably be March 21, 1932, the Deep South Outbreak, which is considered one of the "generational outbreaks." It still holds the record for the deadliest tornado day in Alabama history, even worse than 4/27/11. Depends on what source you look at as to what total you get.

The other positive for me personally (as selfish as it may be) is that my family will be at home where we have a shelter and not scattered in numerous places across town at work and school. Although I fully understand that schools are safer than some people's homes, so it is a catch-22.

Also, I'm still working at the same place I was on 4/27/11 and the EF-5 that moved through Tanner was a few miles from us...not something I want to experience again without a proper shelter.

I can let the post pass, it’s pretty obvious to tell when someone is new to this forum.

It’s best to teach them in a respectful manner which will benefit everyone spectating these threads.

do you think I was being serious??
No but posting “ZOMG V BAD” after every sounding or saying a region “has resigned itself to existence” joking or not sucks as a contribution.

If you were joking then it’s even worse. Again, we have people on this board from Mississippi, and we have some that were personally impacted on 4/27/11. It’s one thing to hype events, but joking or whatever you’re doing about this isn’t a good look.

Again, I’m not trying to come across as harsh because as I said, you’re on the younger side. But just keep that in mind when you are posting about some of the people on here.
