Tornadoes in California & the PANW

Looks like it did some pretty substantial damage

Holy Moly! I just got back from a parade and it looks like stuff happened while I was gone! First heard about it on the radio in the car. I managed to take a look at it on the phone once I got the chance. I saw one of the first videos of it on ABC7, but I never knew how violent it was until I saw the threads just now. Looks like it is at least an EF1.5, maybe an EF2!

Six years ago, a high-end EF2 tornado swept through the town of Port Orchard, on the other side of Puget Sound. The tornado was the strongest to hit northwestern Washington since the White Center Tornado of 1969, causing a 285-yard swath of destruction through Port Orchard. The tornado's winds reached up to 130-135 mph, blowing away roofs and downing trees and power lines in the area.

Aftermath

On this day, nearly 75 years ago, four destructive tornadoes impacted the Bay Area and the San Francisco coast, causing millions of dollars in damage and at least 30 injuries. All of them occurred from one F2 near Sunnyvale, making the twister just as injurious as the 1983 South LA tornado.

There was one storm where we had a small tornado less than half a mile away that damaged some apartments near my house. I don't remember what year it was.

Last spring after lots of rain and a strong windstorm a big eucalyptus tree fell down and severely damaged some apartments nearby. They are still under repair.

According to the List of Tornadoes in California, There was a tornadic incident that happened approximately 32 years ago, where a likely high-end F0 touched down in Lake Forest and caused $5 million in damage to some apartment buildings. A woman was injured after she was thrown 75 feet into the air. :)
