Winter threat: 1/9-12/ 25

The only model showing more ice than anything else is the 12z Canadian. I find that very interesting.

Yup. Trend today has been colder. Which makes sense with the models picking up the snow pack to our north
This right here. I think the models are baking in the results of yesterdays events. I hope the trend continues - though there's a point at which I'd like it to stop increasing snow depth totals though. I'm just saying. Not sure anyone in the south wants a foot of snow, to be honest.

I'll take snow over ice but such a large amount of the white stuff would still completely shut down everything over here.

I'm that exception. I want a foot of snow! And Thundersnow LOL!

I'll take a foot of snow!
Having been in central Alabama in 1993, I would not.

I mean... OK, I - me personally - I would, but I wouldn't wish it on an unprepared community like it would be.

The March 1993 Storm fascinates me. The whole meteorological setup and write up on it is just insane to me. And the time of year it happened and just the immense scale of how many states/countries it impacted. Basically Cuba to Canada.

00z Nam is getting close to finishing, can't wait to see the temperatures and freeze line
Warmer, looks like west. N LA Ice storm. I think we can safely say N LA and S AR are in for an interesting ride - they keep getting buried in either snow or ice, depending on the run.

I'm wondering if those upper 20s and low 30s will actually stay socked in; in the central Alabama area throughout Friday during the day. If the precip is too heavy to raise temps. (Wet bulb temp..? I think)
