I'm not lying about the expense, birth control isn't a "one size fits all" remedy, there are various conditions and needs women have to consider when they use certain birth controls. Not everyone can take the cheaper version.
all they have to do is pay the copay, it's still going to be covered

I'm just confused as to why anyone thinks they are entitled to anything for "free." I have debilitating allergies in which I need allergy shots on a bi-monthly basis. I pay $300 per vial. Why am I not entitled to free allergy immunization?

Exactly my point. Why should those of us that don't use it pay for the birth control to be free?
Meanwhile, these low down scumbag groups are trying to seriously screw up Washington for the inauguration and balls.

Imagine if 1 out of 6 Republicans in the House boycotted Obama's inauguration...like is happening with democrats in the House for Trump's...they'd be murdered in the press for being racists, bigots, haters, etc...amazing how when things are turned it's so different. It's really unAmerican for those elected to OUR House of Representatives to do this. Bunch of sorry, low down, good for nothing....I won't say the rest.

It's classless and it makes them look like sore losers, but it's not "unAmerican" - it's actually quite the opposite.

$600 a month for your allergy shots!! That's worse than the epi-pen debacle and you pay that out of pocket???!!!

One vial lasts 6 months and I have 2 different allergy vials (I get one shot at the beginning of the month from vial #1 and one mid month from vial #2). So I pay $600 every 6 months. Still, $100 a month is tough.

Yes that is still expensive, $100 a month could go to a power bill or other needs! Bless your heart!!

I started getting weekly allergy shots back in July. I get a bill every so often and it is no where near that much. My insurance must be picking up more of the bill than i thought. Also, they have made a huge difference for me.

Various animal dander (cat and horses) along with dust mites and tree/grass pollen. Oak trees are one of the worst that trigger my allergic reactions. Tuscaloosa is called Druid City for that exact reason....the vast number of oak trees. So it gets bad.

Same stuff as me. I got a bill yesterday. I'll look at tonight and see how much I'm getting charged.

I've seen allergy immunizations run into the thousands of dollars per year without insurance. So I count $100 a month a good deal for the relief I get. I nearly had to withdraw a semester because it got so bad before I began treatment.

I don't know. Sandra Fluke lied about the cost when it was available right there in DC for $9 a month
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article...didnt-know-target-sells-birth-control-pills-9

A form of birth control is available for that price. There are many types, and $9 a month would be on the absurdly low end of the scale.

Personally (outside of moral issues which should allow people to opt out), I wish birth control was available for free and widely available. Why the hell would we want to pay for a kid for 18 years (or longer if you consider college or adult benefits) vs. a couple of years of birth control?

Birth control is a lot cheaper than cradle to grave welfare, but what do I know. I'm a pragmatist on issues like this and don't get caught up in the ideological underpinnings of small issues like this.

Healthcare is not an issue I have fully took the time to read in, but I can say it has been a disaster with the soaring prices it created--and that is a good indication of what would happen if college was made free like it seems many people want to see. I do think this article is a good read as to what should be done about Obozocare, and hopefully is what goes into effect when Trump is president.

I never spoke in the political thread on old Talkweather because some of those arguments got heated, but in terms of this election, Trump would not have been my first choice for president by any means; but with who became his opponent, he was the best option to vote for.

Uhh... have you seen prices for a college education over say the past 10-15 years? Already soaring. No need to make it free in a socialist pipedream to effectuate skyrocketing prices in education.

Hearing a lot of people are upset that birth control won't be totally free in the future health care replacement. Poor souls will have to pay a copay like the rest of us do with any other prescription.

You will change your tune when Trump rolls out his plan that will include free healthcare for some people. Remember, he doesn't believe in throwing sick people onto the street if they need healthcare. He only does that to sick family members that disagree with him during the settlement of his father's estate.
