Love this picture. Can't wait to see more pics as Earth gets a little smaller in the rearview mirror. Now I wonder if they have an Easter egg test to start the engine.
Here is a rundown of what has occurred and what is currently occurring. We no longer have the audio feed from SpaceX Control so no idea how that extended 2nd stage burn went (or is still going). Another 2nd stage burn will occur after a long coast phase and will be the burn required to target the Earth-Mars elliptical orbit around the sun.
T-01:28:00 SpaceX Launch Director verifies go for propellant load (DONE)
Reports that the core had 2 out of 3 engine burner failures and struck the ocean at ~300mph. Still remarkable feat with the side cores landing in spectacular fashion. Once the car passes the Van Allen belt it will jettison towards Mars and remain orbiting the sun for likely a billion years.
Lol.
