Yep, it's about the 4 best teams. If it was truly about conference champs, they wouldn't have made 4 slots, when there are at least 5 conferences contending for it.Conference Champions are irrelevant when you are trying to get the 4 best teams in a playoff
Ohio State in Tuscaloosa would be electrifying. I couldn't image the type of atmosphere...probably something similar to Game of the Century in 2011.
I'd actually love an 8 team playoff.. give the 5 P5 champs automatic bids and give the highest G5 champ a bid, and then leave 2 open slots for the remaining field to fight over.
Also, make the round of 8 a home game for the higher seed and put that the week after conference championships. Alabama being able to host a playoff game at Bryant Denny would be an electric atmosphere and the same goes for any other home stadium that gets to host a playoff game. And then take those 4 winners and pair the highest remaining seed vs the lowest remaining seed and the other 2 seeds in the Rose/Sugar on New Years Day and send the losing teams to the consolidation NY6 Bowls.
But, here's the kicker: Seeding isn't determined until after conference championships have been played. A 9-3 team that lucked into a conference title because the other team's QB twisted his ankle shouldn't be rewarded with a home game because they have a higher seed than an 11-1 at-large team just because they won their conference.
Using this logic, I'd set the playoff like this:
1 Clemson vs 8 UCF @ Clemson
2 Oklahoma vs 7 Penn State @ Norman (Penn State is a better team than Wisconsin.. let's be real)
3 Georgia vs 6 USC @ Athens
4 Alabama vs 5 Ohio State @ Tuscaloosa
Pair the highest remaining seed and the lowest remaining seed in the Rose/Sugar, and pair the other 2 in the other bowl. Problem solved right there.
Broken foot and I suspect the same thing. Conditioning seems to be off. Granted, he was working with second team given Mack Wilson's return, but we rotate like crazy. How much does this impact the game plan, we will see....Dylan Moses is out for the year with a lower leg injury of some kind.
I'm beginning to think this is some sort of conditioning issue for the linebackers. Saban and Cochran need to sit down and figure out why they're having so many people in that group go down, because I no longer think luck has anything to do with this.

We're gonna need a good LB that can shed a block or two given Bryant's mobility. He hasn't sold me as more than just an average passer, but his ability to scramble worries me, especially if Holcombe does get a starting nod. He was beat like a drum against MSU with Fitzgerald running into the secondary.Thank the lord we have Mack Wilson back. If we have to start Kieth Holcombe against that offense I may just start crying before the first quarter is even over.
He is. He only missed first two practices and from what I understand, Clemson prep is starting tomorrow (this first few days were just back to basics stuff). Is Pruitt even engaged with preparation? Phat Phil Fulmer will be providing as many distractions as possible for his new employee I'm sure

But Pruitt is dead to me. Not only is he going to work for Tennessee, but under fat arse Phil. That donut eating slug. It disgusts me and I don't wish him luck at all. Hope he goes 0-12.
