I finally had time to watch this in depth. The first 25 minutes covers mostly tree breakage and uprooting, and the difference between how species behave and how forests grow, and why there's little point in differentiating between hardwood and softwood. @ 25 there's discussion of debarking and many are going to be surprised with what is said there. @27 discussion of tree fall pattern begins and again hard and soft wood behavior is discussed. @29 discussion of DI's begins along with noting the upgraded scale will no longer list debarking but will have stubbing of limbs. @31:20 there's some discussion on prevailing winds and root strength.

This is mostly from a Midwestern and Northeastern US perspective, but the study/video includes some Southeastern studies and a few of the consulting experts are from down here to cover our regional peculiarities.
