Hey everyone,
We have some exciting news for the community! After a long hiatus, we have officially brought LIVE MODE back to TalkWeather.
As many of you remember, Live Mode was a favorite feature that we unfortunately had to disable after a site update caused some template conflicts. We’ve since overhauled the code to get it running smoothly again. Because this feature requires more "heavy lifting" from our servers to keep data flowing in real-time, we are currently limiting access to our Sustaining Members.
Thanks for being part of the TalkWeather community!

What is Live Mode?
Live Mode allows you to leave the last page of a thread open, and new messages will automatically load as they are posted—no refreshing required. It is an absolute game-changer for staying up-to-the-second during fast-moving severe weather events. How do I manage it?
- Is it on by default? Yes, it is enabled by default for Weather Threads to ensure you don't miss a beat.
- Can I turn it off? Absolutely. If you prefer the classic experience, you can toggle it off in your Account Preferences.
Not a Sustaining Member yet?
If you want to test it out for an upcoming event, you can sign up for just a single month to get access—just remember to manage your renewal settings if you don't wish to continue. Your support as a Sustaining Member helps us keep the servers humming and the data flowing during the busiest storms. Thanks for being part of the TalkWeather community!
