The Models runs of the GFS, ECMWF and other models have a decent winter storm setup for the Southeastern U.S. Where I am at (In Virginia) we are expecting 4-5 inches of snow tomorrow, and at least an inch of ice is possible the next day. The system eventually lifts northwards.

EDIT: THREAD UPDATED TO REFLECT THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT COMING ALONGSIDE THE WINTER WEATHER THREAT

I just saw SE U.S. Winter threat and thought whoa what did I miss?

I just posted this exact thread four times! Whoops! The site was giving me the "Oops! We ran into some problems."

I don't know how to merge threads, but until someone that does know how can merge this with the main severe thread for 2/15/25, I am unsticking it.

In case the mods see this.. I also saw this error

@WesL @JayF @MichelleH
Thanks! Looks like it was a delay between database reads. Right now, TalkWeather is donating some processing power and bandwidth to help archive a few NWS/NOAA sites. More on that later. I've adjusted the load balancer, and it shouldn't happen again.

@Atlantic the winter weather threat should probably be its own thread and not combined with a severe threat. Two different kinds of weather events should be in separate thread :)

Also, severe weather is not expected on the 13th/14th so including those dates in the title can be confusing :(

Edited title and will restick. Please use this thread ONLY for the winter weather threat.

Looks like Virginia is feeling the impact, with 175k customers without power currently.

Iowa also looking pretty snowy. Here's their 511 map as of a few minutes ago. Pink indicates roads totally covered, blue partially.

It's snowing here in Dane County, but we're currently only in a winter weather advisory.
