Severe WX Severe Weather Threat May 22-24, 2026

Today is kinda like a tropical esque type tornadoes/rainfall except without the tropical system

Why hasn’t a watch of any sort been issued?
Uncertainty in overall storm coverage and cloud cover/instability issues

Here is the VWP HTX from Hytop.Look at that Sfc-1km SRH at 268 m2/S2. There one of your main contributors to the spin up's. That Sfc-06km is certainly not shaby at all as well at 335 m2/S2.

SPC discussed earlier today issuing a watch but never pulled the trigger. Since I'm not a scientist, I'll refrain from offering any opinions. I couldn't do the job.

This was sometime between 9 and 10am.

Here's the last statement from MCD 824: "While uncertainty remains
regarding coverage and magnitude of the threat, watch issuance is
possible given the possibility of some increasing tornado potential
with time."

Looks like there were two possible Tornadoes. One in Bailyton and one in Holly Pond. Does anyone want to post damage photos or tornado footage?

Spann posted photos on Facebook of a mobile home damaged in Baileyton. I haven't seen anything from Holly Pond.
