Severe Threat May 15-16, 2025

NWS St. Louis has updated their survey on the St. Louis EF3; it is now the widest ever in both the St. Louis metro and their entire CWA, as well as the widest in Missouri history. Also is arguably the most detailed damage survey ever conducted, with an estimated 10,000 DIs (Moore 2013 had 4,200, half that amount).

Even wider than Joplin?

Joplin peaked at about ~1 mile, give or take a tenths place or two; St. Louis was almost double that at 1.8 miles.

Given that, we should be HUGELY thankful that the latter was nowhere near as violent as the former!:eek:
