5/5-5-6 2026 severe threat

Just curious, is there any rotation on that Severe Thunderstorm north of Mobile?
Nothing notable as far as I can tell. Completely outflow dominant, not even a tornado possible tag on it.

People in that area should still be on the lookout for damaging winds and quarter size hail.

The frogs are calling out audibly on StormRunner Media's stream, despite them being only a few miles from the Collins, MS, supercell (which itself has been quite the prolific lightning producer).

Been under a flash flood warning here in Alexandria, LA but it has let up here. Storms have been training across my area and going into MS.

I measured 5.80" of rain over an hour ago! Streets were flooding. A vehicle stalled out on the low end of my street. Also I saw some hail around dime/penny sized. Wind hasn't been that strong.

On the bright side of things, Shelby Co and points north in Central AL have been cleared of the tornado watch. Still could expect some rain and storms and occasional gusty winds with the blob of rain/storms moving in later, but the streak of no Jefferson County tornado warnings will live on.

Seems like to this point, we have had surprises with what’s gone on south of I-20 in MS tonight and not much activity on the northern end of the threat as originally thought. Maybe the HRRR models homing in more on the TOR threat as we got <12 hours of the event starting got it right.
