5/5-5-6 2026 severe threat

Definitely hit the south side of Monticello. Presumably as a much weaker tornado, but I don't think it completely lifted beforehand.

Monticello storm is going outflow-dominant as some more linear convection lines up behind it. No telling if it stays that way, but I've got my fingers crossed this thing chokes and dies.

Judging by the CC alone it's not really dissipating the way you'd expect it to have by now. Must've been one huge debris cloud.
Debris signature diffused and faded over the town and the strong velocity couplet had disappeared at least 4 or 5 scans west of the town. Worst case scenario there was a remnant low level circulation but by all indications we are looking at a classic debris fallout signature.

I’m not sure why we’re actively looking for any scenario or indication that the town was hit when radar data suggests otherwise.

Looks to be attempting to clear out another inflow notch. We are still not done yet with this storm and won't be until it dies or goes permanently linear.
I can't help but imagine that, if you were to listen to the storm very carefully, you might hear it singing "The Song That Never Ends".:p

prentiss MS has completed a cycle and is reconsolidating a meso core. it’s about to drop an absolute unit
The fact that this was your 666th post makes it that much more ominous, at least to me anyway!

I was a little concerned cause it is a bit far from radar, but I do agree and think it probably only hit the west part of the city. Also the Fruitdale storm in east MS may be reconsolidating and is in a potent environment, so that one may also need to be watched.

EDIT: nvm lol Fruitdale storm is toast.
