Since there wasn't a dedicated thread to talk about drought conditions this year, I made one. Please post all drought-related discussions here and not on the severe weather or tropical weather threads. Thank you!

With any Georgia Luck™ we'll be dealing with prolific flooding in July, because that's just how the dice rolls for us when it comes to precipitation.View attachment 52571
Not a promising forecast for the South through the next 2-3 weeks. GA is going to be in a pretty bad way by the end of the month. FFC has already said this is our worst drought since 2011-12.
Oh absolutely. We'll probably make up the year's deficit in 48 hours on some weekend in August. Just hoping i can get through summer ball before the heavens open. Get me to July 6th and then it can rain as much as it wants. With any Georgia Luck™ we'll be dealing with prolific flooding in July, because that's just how the dice rolls for us when it comes to precipitation.

Heat sucks, drought sucks, but now we get to have them together, yayyyy. Really hoping this trend doesn't continue into May, or, god forbid, through the summer. Could really spell trouble for people with less stable water supply and critically impact the agricultural sector, particularly in Middle Georgia into the coastal plain.View attachment 52681
68% of the state of Georgia and 30% of the Southeast is in the "Extreme Drought" category now. GFS showing no rain at all for most of the region through just about the end of the month. NWS hourly view has us in the ATL metro flirting with 90° next week. Praying for a pattern shift soon or it'll get ugly this summer.

They might have to impose limits if it keeps up. I wonder when the last time that happened was for different parts of Georgia.Yeah I'm worried about agriculture as a lot of fruit is starting to come into season just about now. I wonder if water restrictions are being considered, in terms of people watering their lawns and such. Worst part is there's not even any relief coming soon.
I wouldn’t hold my breath just yetLooks like some relief could be on the way after the middle of next week. This April has felt more like October with the sunny, warm to hot days and chilly nights.
