Doesn't work like that. It's not a straight "x magnitude earthquake = y magnitude tsunami" calculation. There are lots of other factors that go into it (mechanism of the earthquake, depth of the earthquake, topography of the seabed and coastline, etc.).

The epicenters for the 1952 quake and today's quake are in the same general area. Only about 20 miles apart or so.
