This bill (Reconciliation) is not the one that zeros out NOAA research/etc., it's the Appropriations Bill that is voted on later.

i still dont really think still its good for small budget cuts or any type of cuts at all but maybe this could be some good news as stated by andy hazelton

NOAA is still a government agency, so I would guarantee there is some fat to be trimmed. I've mentioned before that with today's technology, we likely could at least reduce the building inventory.

If I were king for the day, I'd take money saved in those areas and put it towards filling in radar holes and replacing outdated radars. KHTX is down all the time. How much longer will it remain operational?

ill agree with the second comment but i strongly disagree respectively with the first one i dont really think there should be any sort of trimming or reduction unless if your meaning something else i just feel like more funding would be need but im glad at least that the weather enterprise is continuing to stay strong despite all of the distractions going on

I think NOAA has nearly 200 buildings across the country. Certainly some of those can be combined.

Examining and adjusting NOAA's budget is not beyond reproach. We just don't need a machete to do the job.
