2 years ago, I strarted tracking the temperature of 2 Siberian towns on my iPhone: Yakutsk and Oumyakon. Both were extremely cold, but Oymyakon was colder than Yakutsk on 90 percent of the winter days...usually 10+ degrees colder. This year, Yakutsk and usually been colder than Oymyakon for most of the winter. Does anyone know what’s going on?

I'm going to play along. Well they are in Siberia so I'm sure it is going to be nice and cold. However, 10 degrees (are you talking Celsius or Fahrenheit?) wouldn't be unheard of considering Oymyakon's elevation is 2460ft (750m) versus Yakustk's 413ft (126m).

So tell us more about why you would be tracking these two cities?
