I'll go ahead and leave this here:

https://www.dailysabah.com/americas...rqvz5xeppckzan75wg6syaitweqy2ybor-514rv4n9lfk

The only reason why Christians like you care even a little bit about Israel is for selfish reasons:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...rophecy/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.fb326b2bdb49

I'll now find myself out where educating oneself on political topics is encouraged.

Enjoy wallowing in your ignorance and religious dogma.
How many times are you going to claim that you're leaving?

Greetings all.

Politics is inherently a touchy subject for anyone. However, I have always firmly believed that politics can be discussed in such a manner that it can be civil. As of late this thread has been a little wild. The political discussion has moved into a realm of religious baiting and what I believe is some abusive behavior. With this in mind, several of us in the admin group took a look at the posts and have started the process to notifying users that we believe have either ignored our harassment rule or come close. This is a touchy subject, we like to be hands off and let the conversation rule the day but there are lines and I feel those lines have been crossed a bit with some of the recent posts.

Please don't think we are discouraging anyone on this thread from discussing their viewpoints. Just be aware that your viewpoints may differ and that isn't an excuse to call out someone or their religion.

If anyone has any questions, comments or wish to share their view, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thanks,
Wes

Thank you, Wes! For a person who had 40 something posts, with no contribution to the board whatsoever, they aren’t welcome when they resort to defending hate and attacking the religion of long time, welcome members here.

I pity those who harbor such hate and anger in their hearts.

I'm going to go ahead and respond to a link aroadtonowhere08 posted, to me, I imagine. I can't see the original post. Here's the link he posted:

All right. The Anti-Zionist group this article is chirping about as being in solidarity with Ilhan Omar is Neturei Karta International. So who is this group? I suppose I was just supposed to stop there and be stunned silent that *gasp* Orthodox Jews would be in solidarity with a radical anti-Semite. I suppose, being the pathetic case that I am who is deserving of pity because (wut r werds) I wouldn't try to find out. *snort* Okay.

Being that I can read and all, I found all kinds of interesting facts. Facts, I'm sure a certain someone didn't bother to go looking for. Because, the optics were just too good. I mean, did you see that picture of the Orthodox Jews for the article? It was perfection. Or maybe he did know and thought no one would care, go looking, was too ignorant to read past the headline, I don't know.

But here's fact one: Neturei Karta remains a zealous opponent of the Zionist movement since it believes the exile of the Jews can only be redeemed with the arrival of the Messiah and that any attempt to establish a Jewish state is an affront to God’s will. Therefore, it claims, the state of Israel and all its institutions should be resisted or at the very least ignored. (Ohh....this sounds very religious-y)

Fact two: The popularity of Neturei Karta among Palestinians is based on this fundamental resistance to Zionism. They don’t just oppose Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands or Israeli policies – they oppose the mere existence of Israel or the idea that Jews should even have a national movement. ( I see. )

Fact three: Neturei Karta’s worldview is shaped by their opposition to Jewish self-determination, not support for Palestinian self-determination. Similar to Evangelical Christian support of radical right-wing Israeli groups, Neturei Karta’s support of Palestinians is based on fundamentalist views and not on actual ideological identification with the Palestinian struggle. Both of these Messianic forces will take on any type of ideological form to promote their own fatalistic worldview. (They don't really support Palestine. They just don't think Israel should exist. Got it.)

So Neturei Karta opposes the existence of the state of Israel on religious grounds. I will also add that Neturei Karta has and does align themselves with International anti-Semites and Islamic extremists groups who advocate violence against Israel. And this is what he posted to prove I was ignorant to Antisemitism. This. Complete and utter fail.

Why are so many democratic socialists quiet on the humanitarian crisis happening in Venezuela? After all, Ocasio-Cortez and Thalib, who are recognized democratic socialists, have been quiet on the issue. The DSA made it a primary issue to align with the Maduro regime in Venezuela in 2016 and 2018 elections.

I’m sure Bernie Sanders is wandering around in his Depends somewhere trying to justify Thalib’s support of this. After all, we don’t want to stifle proper criticism of a whole people!

Why are so many of our politicians racists? Are they that dissociated with normal people to have any empathy for difference? The list of republicans and democrats is too long.

I surely hope it’s not representative of the rest of our population, but I’m afraid it is.

Because identity politics has enveloped our political system.

Highly recommend everyone watch the entirety of this PBS News Hour piece on Fox News with an unbiased perspective. It only takes 14 minutes of your time.

What are your thoughts?

Ivey won over 60% of the vote in November and with the super majority in the legislature there was little doubt the gas tax would pass. This is what the people Alabama wanted. We knew the gas tax would come up in the legislature this time. People are crying all over FB to vote them out of office. Well, that oppurtunity has passed.

No it hasn’t and some aspire to other higher offices.

Plus, the bill from what I understand will not mandate the money go to roads and bridges/dredging the port so no one would have wanted this.

Walt would’ve raised taxes too, so we were screwed either way. Just look at the sales tax increase the Tuscaloosa City Council just shot down. Glad they did.

I think they cut a few deals between each other to make sure it passed. "You vote for this bill and I'll make sure some of us will vote for yours" kinda thing. It happens from time to time. We'll see if that is the case here. I was surprised when I saw Smitherman was a yea. That leads me to believe something might be up. He's a hoot to listen too when he has the floor. Interesting couple months ahead I think.

Whatta you bet Medicaid expansion is just around the corner. With a few exceptions we have statewide and nationally a Uniparty.
