Anyone listening to the audio would know he was joking. Simply reading the words like... 'Trump praises Chinese president extending tenure 'for life', which is the headline for CNBC, or reading the quote you posted, it's not understood. You, yourself, posted without comment, giving no indication it was a joke. It was also the first time I'd seen it. Most people are headline readers, sadly. And the media knows it. They're being purposely specious.
The problem is that it’s yet another unpresidential thing to say.

How much if the 120 million has been spent to combat Russian meddling?

http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2018/03/let_him_arrest_me_former_trump.html

Nunberg said he does not plan to comply with the subpoena, including either testimony or providing documents.

"Let him arrest me," Nunberg said. "Mr. Mueller should understand I am not going in on Friday."

Nunberg said he was planning to go on Bloomberg TV and tear up the subpoena.

It is unclear what actions Mueller would take if Nunberg does not appear in front of the grand jury. Nunberg, an early campaign aide, was dismissed by Trump and no longer is in his good graces.

"The Russians and Trump did not collude," Nunberg said. "Putin is too smart to collude with Donald Trump."

"I'm not spending 80 hours going over my emails with Roger Stone and Steve Bannon and producing them," Nunberg said. "Donald Trump won this election on his own. He campaigned his money maker off. And there is nobody who hates him more than me."
Wouldn't you think someone who hates Donald Trump would want to spill any info he had rather than get arrested? Just a thought...

Gah...the fact that Donald Trump said something un-presidential is not news. He's uncouth. He's a blowhard. And every time he opens his mouth you can expect something stupid will fall out of it. The media doesn't have to manipulate their headlines to prove it. And every time they do they only do more harm to their own reputations. But it's like nobody cares. For all the media's flailing arms in the air about Trump's tone and un-presidential-ness they need to study their own tone and their inability to behave like journalists. CNN is a complete farce of a 'news source'. They are the media wing of the Democrat party. That's it. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

As far as all things Russia. Trump stood on how many stages during the Republican primaries and said how many times he thought Putin was a swell guy? Forgive me if I don't put on my shocked face. But not too long ago Obama and company didn't think Russia was a threat either. A certain Republican candidate tried to warn them. They laughed at him instead. It's not funny now is it. But I won't pretend to know the details of the expense account for Russian meddling and why it hasn't been used. I don't know the answer. I can't pretend to know or understand the first thing about this administration.

The Oscars hit an all-time low in viewership. Yet, they still don't get the hint that average Americans don't want to see multi-millionaires virtue signal all while covering up serial rapists, pedophiles, and abusers. Gee, who would've thought...

A nonpartisan campaign watchdog group filed a complaint Monday against a pro-Doug Jones super PAC for failing to disclose its donors before the special election.

The Campaign Legal Center is accusing the Highway 31 super PAC of engaging in a "secrecy scheme to spend $4.2 million in the race" to aid Jones, a spokesman for the center told AL.com.

Democrats talk the talk about supporting transparency in political money, but then national Democratic groups push aggressive new legal theories to undermine the transparency laws that are on the books," said Brendan Fischer, director, federal and FEC reform at the center. "Despite laws requiring that super PACs disclose their donors, Alabama voters went to the polls on election day without knowing who was backing Highway 31. This secrecy scheme cooked up by Highway 31 and its backers threatens to create a new disclosure loophole that will be exploited by billionaires and operatives supporting both parties, unless the FEC does its job and enforces our disclosure laws."

Good stuff from the Doug Jones campaign. Piece of filth (he was a piece of filth regardless of this).

We cannot allow a president saying things like this to be considered normal or acceptable.

Where is the media coverage of the attempted bombing of a high school in Utah by an ISIS sympathizer? Or is that story not convenient to the current narrative being pushed?

Is there really a chance in hell that the media would ever allow Trump to get away with saying anything no matter how big or small? Or whether he was joking or not? Rest easy, gangstonc. The media is whipped into a constant frenzy over his every word on a daily basis.

I’m not worried about the media. I don’t like the voting populace thinking his antics are professional or normal.

Too late for that. The time to address that was back during the Republican primaries.

The same place as the media coverage of the school shooting in Birmingham. Apparently, it’s just a big enough story to hit the local news. I don’t know why.

The latest I saw they are calling it an "accidental shooting". I don't get it. How was it accidental? Did a kid have a gun at the school and it accidentally went off? Did the police accidentally shoot someone? Was the shot meant for someone else and the one that was killed hit by mistake? Was it a stray bullet fired from somewhere down the street?

It was a student showing off the gun and it discharged striking someone in the school building. A bit different than going to the school with the intent to kill people, but still tragic nonetheless. I thought most Birmingham city schools had metal detectors?

But there been significantly more coverage for this than the attempted bombing of a Utah high school. It is almost scary how the media picks and chooses what they want Americans to hear about....

Not to diminish the tragedy, but CNN and other outlets probably rushed to update their "2018 School Shootings" chart as soon as they heard about this.
