It probably is a hard pill to swallow when they spent 8 years painting Obama in the most terrible light possible then they support somebody who fits the delusions they made for the last president. Obama may not have the political ideology they support, but I believe he had charisma, was professional and intelligent, and did for the most part what he thought was in the countries best interest. Whether or not the best decisions were made is up for debate and speculation, but Trump isn't any of those things to me and to the majority of Americans. The people supporting Trump are no different than those who praised Obama's every action and blindly approved of everything he did and said.. the "radical liberals". Anyone in power should be criticized as if one were not affiliated with any party OR as if one were affiliated with the opposite party.

The Dems laughed at Romney when he said Russia presented our largest global threat. They didn't act like Russia was a threat until December.

That's why I say it was an act. But, as stated, some are continuing to only hype it as a political play and others see they made a mistake. I can almost handle that.

I can't handle people in the GOP that knew Russia was a threat now downplaying it simply because Trump is a Russian toadie. Primarily because the latter is so dangerous.

So the right was dignified when they said BHO was a Kenyan Muslim? Were they dignified when they made fun of the size of Michelle's butt? The list goes on and on. Politics are needlessly disgusting. That's how it is. Both sides suck.

This article is stupid.

gangstonc and Arcadia:

There's a reason for the sudden emergence of these types of articles. It is to set the table for defending Trump on Russia.

Remember, we've gone from:

1. There was no interference.
2. If there was interference, it just as easily could've been the Chinese, North Koreans, or a 400lb man on his bed.
3. Ok, there might have been interference, but didn't involve Trump or his campaign, and no one can for sure prove it was Russia.
4. The interference didn't change the outcome of the election. Votes were no changed. This is just Dem hysteria.
5. OK, so the Russian meddling was intense and TRIED to fix the outcome of the election. So what? We didn't collude and meet with them. Go look at Hillary.
6. So we met with the Russians... so what? That's not collusion. We had to do it to start fixing Obama's foreign policy, and we didn't publicize it because Dems would politicize it. It was just a couple of meetings. We didn't talk about the campaign or election.
7. OK, so we talked about the election and the campaign and it was dozens of meetings. But these people were barely connected to the campaign. Not part of the inner circle. Accusations of collusion are ridiculous.
8. We are being fully transparent. There are no other meetings to disclose.
9. We are being fully transparent. There are no other meetings to disclose.
10. We are being fully transparent. There are no other meetings to disclose.
11. Oh, I left hundreds of meetings off my security clearance form. BTW, yeah the top campaign officials and Don Jr. met with the Russians, but it was about cute and cuddly babies and children.
12. OK, the meeting was about adoption. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
13. Well, we actually talked about the Magnitsky Act. But that's because we love Children. We'd meet with ANYONE to help children. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
14. They might have said something about being able to give us dirt on Hillary, but this is just a random attorney. I don't think she's Russian. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
15. OK, she's Russian but so what? She shouldn't even be in the country! Why did Loretta Lynch let her in? We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
16. I'm releasing the emails because the NYTimes is going to do it if I don't. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
17. I knew they said she was a Russian government attorney, but I get these headaches, man. Sometimes my memory isn't so good. Kushner and Manafort, however, are notorious for only reading the subject and first 8 words of emails. They didn't know she was Russian. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
18. OK, OK ok, yes she was introduced as a Russian government attorney, and we were told this is part of Moscow's support and efforts to get Donald Trump elected. How is that collusion? This is a Democrat setup! We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
19. Collusion isn't wrong. We are American Patriots -- the public had a right to know. Every other campaign would have taken that meeting. Show me where collusion is a crime... We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.
20. See? We are innocent. We just testified under oath in Congress (actually, we have a carefully worded previously prepared statement and we weren't under oath). We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.

Here's what's next...

OK, collusion isn't wrong or illegal, and if it is, we are Patriots that fight. We fight. We care about this country. Sometimes you break a few eggs when you make an omelette. Sometimes we get dirty. Sometimes we are crude. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.

Democrats and Liberals spent decades implanting their allies in the deep-state. Ask any General -- you can't win a war if you are worried about being nice and polite. Sometimes you have to yell, cuss, and get your uninform dirty. Sometimes you collude with the Russians and sell out your country. Remember, we are Patriots that fight! We broke a few eggs and got a little dirty, but now you can eat that omelette in peace instead of under Sharia law. We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.

Obama and Hillary would've let us be taken over by Muslims and we'd all be under Sharia. Thank God. Trump and his team are Patriots that fight. They get a little dirty, but you have to fight fire with fire. They use Saul Alinsky's tactics... that's why they are saying that a meeting to discuss beautiful babies was so bad. Don't listen to the crazy Dems and Libtards unless you want Sharia!!! We are being completely transparent. This is a nothing-burger.

There's a reason these "but he fights" or "yes he can be rough around the edges or use rough language" pieces are being pushed. They are a way to slowly chip away at standards and slowly mold people into being OK with things they used to be against. You do it gradually and you use previous heroes and popular patriotic Americans as a comparison.

By the time it comes out that Trump directly colluded with the Russians, Obama will be called a coward for NOT doing so, and Trump supporters will say FDR, Truman, Patton, and Eisenhower colluded with the Russians, and that's why the 50's were so great! And, it will be said Trump had to do it to save Western Civilization from Sharia.

See what I mean?

This isn't about logic or character. It is about keeping those who dislike/attack your guy off-balance by loudly proclaiming that you don't care what he does, and that previous opposition leader/new opposition leader/opposition party are the reason why your guy does every single negative thing he does.

Basically, everything shady that you do is because your opponents forced you to. Everything that you do that doesn't work is because of a conspiracy of your opponents. If you make a mistake? It's because your opponents forced you to address this issue due to their treachery and set you up to fail.

If there is a success? Take credit while spinning a yarn about how you overcome your evil opponents. Win or lose, make sure you are always painted in a positive light and that your opponents are dragged through the mud. Thankfully the news media can't critique you for this because you delegitimized them early on. And, you have major supporters that have become famous simply because they praise you and function as a state-controlled media personality for you. Finally, you did leave one network untouched. They tried confronting you early on but when you started popping them in the mouth they backed off. They are now essentially state-owned and controlled media, and you religiously watch their programming.

I'm not talking about Trump. I'm talking about how Putin and his allies seized control of Russian government while controlling the narrative with heavy doses of propaganda.

This sums up what I've been saying about electing someone like Trump for the past year and why I was dead set against him (among other reasons). Not only is he chipping away standards but he's chipping away the very foundation conservatives stood on. When we're all standing on a pile of rubble at the end of this thing try not to look surprised. Some of us tried to tell you.

I am trying to think of all the great conservative victories over the past two decades. Newt had a few then he was crushed by the Alinskyites. Have there been any conservative victories in the culture war ? I think the number of people opposing abortion has risen but there have been no serious efforts to overturn Roe Vs. Wade. Maybe in the Supreme Court we can count Thomas and Gorsuch. We are already standing on a pile of rubble.

I'm sure it is a Conservative victory to undercut Jeff Sessions.

I'm struggling not to laugh to death. Sessions was your boy. It must be painful to watch Trump throw him under the bus simply because Trump and his family did a crap job of "not" talking to Russians.

Tried to warn you Trump would do this. And it will continue.

I do not like what he is doing to Sessions. He is a decent man. He made a mistake by recusing himself from the Russia investigation. Perhaps he should have told trump he would do that if necessary.

Far be it for me to defend Sessions, but how would Sessions know there would be a Russian investigation, that it would involve the Trump campaign, and that Trump would fire Comey?

Trump is angry at Sessions for not being able to predict the future. He's also angry at him for a spectacle that Trump caused HIMSELF by shooting from the hip and making dumb comments.

The AG represents the country and not the President. Trump needs to understand that. This isn't a fight he can win so I expect him to back down. If he doesn't he's making a huge political mistake. We'll see.

What's most sad to me is that people don't see Trump was baited into doing this. I should know... I helped with it! And yet Trump still can't control himself. Want Trump to do something? Tell him it's a bad idea or he can't do it.

It may be a pile of rubble to an entrenched ultra conservative, but to the Americans who don't care about politics and to those open minded persons who can focus on the beautiful things in life, this country is a great one, built to last and this is just a little blip in history.
In several years I believe many more will regret how much stress they put on their psyche overthinking the politics and fearing the end is near.

Why do things have to be conservative victories? Why can't you look at the fact that abortions are down and be pleased with that progress but want more? We need national victories.

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment in Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday and questioned the importance of Mr. Sessions’s early endorsement of Mr. Trump’s candidacy, but the president declined to say whether he planned to fire him.

“It’s not like a great loyal thing about the endorsement,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I’m very disappointed in Jeff Sessions.”

Asked whether he would remove Mr. Sessions from office, Mr. Trump said he was disappointed in the attorney general ’s decision to recuse himself from the probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

The president has repeatedly criticized Mr. Sessions in recent interviews and on Twitter.

“I’m just looking at it,” the president said when asked how long he could continue to criticize Mr. Sessions without firing him. “I’ll just see. It’s a very important thing.”

Mr. Trump said he had no immediate plans to make any other changes to his top staff.

When asked why Trump is doing this to Sessions, White House aides stated:

"Because he can."

Yesterday Pres Trump declared that he was more presidential than George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, John Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan. I would say more arrogant and delusional would be more accurate.

There's an infinite amount of hilarious old Trump tweets when re-read today... But I couldn't stop laughing at the irony of this one:

Why have a Secretary of State? Why have a Secretary of Defense? Why have an Attorney General if the President is going to dictate policy via tweets? That any "Conservative" supports this kind of executive overreach and dictatorial behavior is absolutely crazy.

Besides, everyone understands he's doing all this just as a distraction, right?
