Since everybody wants the FBI to investigate, including Hillary, why don't they take up the Juanita Broaddrick rape claims against Bill Clinton as well? Or are we just picking and chosing which crimes to investigate as motivated by a political agenda? We need to hold public officials, past, present, and future accountable.
They absolutely should.

Moving forward we have to ensure that victims (men and women both) feel comfortable enough to come forward and their claims are investigated thoroughly.

The Dems are badly handling this Kavanaugh stuff. Everyone here knows how much I loathe Trump. You all know I'm furious with the GOP and voted for Doug Jones. The Kavanaugh stuff is VERY fishy as Mike said. It reeks of "you blocked Garland, that was dirty pool, so we'll play dirty as well." I believe Dr. Ford that she experienced something terrible. I don't believe she's sure or can conclusively say it was Kavanaugh that did it. There are way too many holes in her story, and her refusal to testify is absurd.

The Roy Moore accusers DEMANDED a Senate Hearing did they not? Why is she actively avoiding one? Even when she's been offered private testimony or staffers flying to California to meet her?

Dems might have just re-elected Trump and blew the 2018 elections in one fell swoop.

As far as the Hurricane Maria stuff is concerned, I second Arcadia's post. I'll also pray for you, Matt. Clearly your new residence is Gateway Pundit and Infowars.

Today is September 20th. I'm going to go on record and say that I believe Ford is lying. Lying through her teeth.
I don’t know if she is lying or not. To me it doesn’t matter that the story is old. We didn’t criticize those that were abused by the Catholic priests.

It’s worth taking a few days toninvestigate. The Anita hill investigation took only 3 days.

It has nothing to do with how old the story is. It has everything to do with how the story is being played and Ford's own words and actions that lead me to believe she's lying. Yes, all women should be heard. But they should not automatically be believed simply because they bring forth an accusation. She seems to think that because she says it I just believe it without question. Well, I don't actually. I have a lot questions. Questions she can't seem to answer, or doesn't want to. I don't accept that. And if someone was accusing you with this kind of flimsy allegation, I'd be in your corner, demanding more information, or telling them to go away until they had it. You don't get to ruin someone's life with vague stips of information with no way to even defend themselves against it - like a lack of a timeline for starters!

Merrick Garland, nominated for 293 days.
Brett Kavanaugh, nominated for 71 days.

By all means, let's hurry this thing along.

The Ford story sounds suspicious to me ... Certainly feels like it could be a democratic deep state ploy to prevent Republicans from pushing through a Supreme Court nominee before the midterms. But then again, maybe it's a legit story that should be scrutinized.
Either way...
Both party representatives are discraceful and will do anything they can to hold the most influence in any branch of government possible.

Shame if you do, shame if you don't.

No one has denied her a chance to come forward. She has been asked to speak before the committee. She has said no. They offered to send someone to speak to her. She said no. It's hard to scrutinize the story when the one with the story refuses to give details and answer questions. I understand she's agreed to something else today under certain conditions of some such, which only comes off as ploys and tactics. Will she or won't she talk and answer key questions is, quite frankly, disturbing. And I haven't even touched on the way Feinstein sat on this information for months without a word to her colleagues about it and not asking Kavanaugh these questions when she had the opportunity. It reeks of politics over human decency. Does the accused not also deserve to have this matter heard quickly in order to clear his name? If he's innocent? There is a victim in this story. And with all victims, I want their voices heard. But who is trying to be heard, who is begging to be heard... and who is trying to be quiet and refusing to speak?

I wonder what accusations would've seeped out of the sewers had Trump nominated someone more conservative/right wing and a woman...like Amy Coney Barrett? I mean, its never to late to withdraw Kavanaugh and introduce her...unless the dems are gonna stonewall for years.

I appreciate yours and Arcadia's prayers. I really do and Lord knows I need all the prayers I can get. I am not blindly obedient to any person or party. I am loyal to the country however. I do know that everything that is wrong in the world is not Donald Trumps fault. I admit the man is flawed. But he is achieving some positive results for the country. He did not collude with the Russians. There was a coordinated to take him out as a candidate, as president elect and now as president. The FBI , DOJ and establishment and yes Deep State government employees doing all they can do to take him down. The NY Times article today is disturbing. McCabe's lawyers have verified the statements are accurate. The latest James O'Keefe videos are disturbing. We are witnessing the biggest abuse of power and political scandal in our history I believe. It should be a fun few weeks coming up. Continue the prayers! I reciprocate for you and Arcadia.

So now Ford doesn’t want to come to a hearing Monday because she’s scared of flying?

If the Repubs in Congress had a set they’d set a time for a hearing on Monday, and if she doesn’t show there should be a vote that afternoon.

I have no idea how you could definitively say he did not collude with Russia. We don’t know for sure either way, but there is plenty of reason to be very suspicious.

I feel like you're antagonizing my opinions even though they're quite similar to your own.
This woman seems precariously deceptive to me, and I hardly take her words as anything but an unprovable distraction.
Nevertheless I can understand that the media statements we've read and interpreted are misleading in their context and may dilute our perception of the situation.

I'm not a specialist on Supreme Court nominees but it's my opinion that we would be better off scrutinizing the allegations instead of fast-tracking a team member because it's what the party wants us to do.

I wasn't antagonizing your opinions. I was stating that what you claim to want is what they are trying to accomplish. But they don't need to beg this woman to come give her testimony. If she refuses to appear then they need to move forward. As far as "fast-tracking" goes, Feinstein sat on this for how many weeks? She only dropped this in the eleventh hour as a DELAY TACTIC. This is bitter revenge politics at its finest.

So, now we have a 4th witness, a friend of Ford, deny a party/assault ever happened and doesn't even know Kavanaugh personally. This story is sketchy at best.

BREAKING NEWS: Brett Kavanaugh has calendars from 1982 that his team says don’t show a party matching his accuser’s account. He plans to give them to the Senate. - NYT

Keeping calendars as a 17 yr old of your social events is weird. Saving them for 35 years is really weird.

Again, this guy perjured himself. I can’t excuse that or him saying he doesn’t recall something if he has taken detailed notes of his life since he was a teenager.

I don’t think it’s that weird. I still have those agendas most high schools give out with monthly calendars. Granted, I’m not 3+ decades removed from it. My parents also saved everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, from my childhood: preschool, elementary, middle and high school. So it very well it could be memories saved from his youth. Not that weird at all and I don’t think it’s as rare as you are implying.
