It appears a series of disturbances along a stalled out boundary will bring a threat for widespread flooding across southeast.

Yeah, this is a huge signal for a multi-day rain/flooding event. That trough hangs out west through the 15 day forecast period.

If the 18z GFS is even close to correct, a flood event that will be talked about for a while.
Insanely amped precipitation totals.
What's the euro say?

It is crazy how anchored the trough remains out west through 2 weeks. This is a precursor to some major river flooding (sort of like 2011 with the record Mississippi River floods).

Wonder if this going to lead to eventually severe wx threats down the road bit later... 2011. Interesting

Possible weather days for flooding? Has it ever happened in the TN Valley of Alabama?

I think it would heavily depend on local conditions and timing of the heavy rainfall. Or if Grandma K declares state of emergency.

March 1973 had significant flooding in Huntsville. https://www.weather.gov/hun/hunsurold_march1973flood
Finally found some road names for reference:

I thought this was near Bob Wallace but wasn't sure

Planning on a lot of rain next week in Chattanooga. Local mets have totals ranging from 3"-12". On average they are calling for 4" locally but emphasise some models are spitting out insane amounts of rain totalling up to a foot. I have a bad feeling there will be major flooding in areas of the valley with mud and rock slides on the local mountain roads

A bit of good news is it seems mesoscale guidance seems to be tempering QPF through early Wednesday. Nothing outrageous but a widespread 2-3" which I think most places can handle if it spread out over a day or two.

That's good news from a flooding threat but that may be yet another major L for HUN and Huntsville broadcast mets who are still dealing with blows to their credibility from the public after the snow fiasco a few weeks ago. That worries me.
