What a meltdown Kirby had in the postgame presser. That loss is on you, buddy. Accept it and move on.

Kirby has been a complete embarrassment since he left Alabama. He cannot get Saban out of his mind. He played dirty the moment he got the job and has tried to negative recruit ever since.

Such a shame too. You'd figure he'd have more class and respect for the program and the coach that gave him the opportunity he has today.

You don't see any of Saban's other former assistants acting like this, and Jeremy Pruitt in particular is the HC at arguably our arch-rival.

We got a glimpse of the real Kirby the second he took private Alabama recruiting information and used it to recruit against them when he was hired by Georgia.

Alabama and Georgia have played for 120 minutes of regulation in the last two seasons. Georgia has led or been tied for 118:56 of that time and is 0-2.

Urban Meyer retiring.

I'm going to bet $50 the NCAA comes out with a laundry list of charges on OSU after their bowl game, especially after the domestic violence debacle and Zach Smith getting increasingly mentally unstable on twitter. He may have sent some info into the NCAA because he made it loud and clear he wanted to ruin Urban Meyer's career.

Good riddance. Good X's and O's coach but a disgusting human being off the field. College football is better without Urban Meyer in it.

Now I can see why Clemson dominates the ACC with refs like we had in the Orange Bowl.

The players got completely out of control multiple times after the whistle with punches being thrown.

Notre Dame absolutely belonged in. The real problem is, yet again, we have 2 clear cut teams in a 4 team playoff. If we had an 8 team playoff we could have had more boring games.

The BCS got it right almost every year. I want it back.

The only year that really required a playoff was last year and 2014 to a lesser extent.. it is quite telling that we consistently have 2 blowout semifinal games and an absolute classic final year after year with the exception of 2014 and 2017.

Unfortunately the days of the 2 team championship are permernatly gone just because a 4 team system offers 2 extra games for ESPN and stadium officials to treat like championships.

I do hope that another year of Alabama-Clemson will quiet the 8 team crowd though. 4 is about as big as it needs to get and that varies from year to year. 2015, 2016, and this year left no question going in at all that Alabama-Clemson are head and shoulders above everyone else.

Though its not the best way to determine a champion, I kind of feel for you guys not old enough to remember when 3 or 4 different games on New Years Day had an impact on who would be #1 in some seasons, then having to wait until the next day to find out after the polls were released. It made for an exciting day of football that won't be matched.

I'm trying to understand how Bama's defense could go to being so dominant in Q1 completely stopping all 3 Sooner drives and then in Q2 it was like a switch was flipped and our defense never stopped their next 8 drives (the only time they were stopped it was by the clock and not our D at the end of Q2). How did we go from the most dominate I've ever seen a defense in the Saban era and then see Murrary, Lamb, and company turn us into essentially a typical Big 12 defense for the rest of the game? Frustrating

I see some things that lead to this. The first of which was they seemed to get worn out. We had them absolutely shut down getting out to a 28-0 lead before they stopped playing with as much intensity and OU capitalized.

The second was this and its irking me: We got emotional and undisciplined for some baffling reason. The OU offensive line allegedly likes to play dirty, and we played right into their hands with our undisciplined play. That was really kind of embarrassing and I don't know why that happened. Clemson may have seen that and be like "Well if we fluster them mentally we can completely throw them off their game", so I'm nervous they'll come out talking heavy trash too in the title game since it seems like that somehow affects us. Just in general the social media antics of this year's defensive players has been kind of riduclious, Mack Wilson in particular.

Another thing is our offensive strategy seemed to be "Shut them down while our defense is fresh and build as big a lead of possible before switching to ball control after halftime". I'm willing to guess constantly scoring so quickly wore them out because they would only get a couple minutes of rest before going back out there. Granted it worked to perfection by running an air-raid attack at the beginning and switching back to our ground-and-pound offense from years past after halftime, but I think that played a role as well.
