No excuse to boo a college player just because he's not good at his job. That is ridiculous and embarrassing.

CBS picked up A&M at Alabama as the SEC game of the week for a 2:30 kick off. Yay, can’t wait for a 5 hour crap show with all the commericials and baking in the sun.

I was hoping they would pick up Georgia-Missouri seeing as how that will most likely be an undefeated matchup.

The only reason this game is even halfway attractive is because Texas A&M showed a pulse against Clemson, and that may have been a fluke. They pick up Alabama games just as an excuse to get their hands on the Birmingham CFB market I swear.

We’ll probably reach the max allotted picks for CBS (which is 5). I could easily see LSU, Auburn, and maybe Missouri, Tennessee in addition to A&M.

Neat addition this season is an on the field commercial clock that shows how long the breaks are.

Another bone to pick was the added metal detectors. We arrived 45 min before kickoff and was in the stadium about 15 min before kick off. They need some major improvements before A&M.

CBS has already claimed November 3rd for their doubleheader so might as well pencil in Alabama-LSU as a lock for the primetime game unless LSU just completely collapses. The Iron Bowl is guaranteed to be CBS as well so that leaves two slots after this weekend. If Missouri pulls the upset against Georgia that will guarantee our game against them is on CBS and Mississippi State will likely be as well.

Is the max CBS number of 5 a new thing? I know Alabama's been on CBS more than 5 in some previous seasons. (not counting SECCG)

I think there's a provision where they can hold a 6th game if they allow ESPN the first rights to a given week the following year. They exercised that in 2011 when they picked up Alabama-LSU and ESPN got a first pick the following week and again in 2015 I believe.

Yep, with the introduction of the SEC channel, CBS and the SEC have come to an agreement that they're generally only allowed 5 showings of a single team. This is why 2014 was the first iron bowl in ages that was on ESPN.

Ah that makes sense. I was thinking of 2005 when Bama was on CBS 7 or 8 times regular season. Also I think either 2015 or 2016 it was 6 times regular season, but I'm not certain.

Here’s a question my mom brought up. Instead of redshirting Jalen, why not move him to the receiver position for Tua? They could be an unstoppable duo that way.

He wouldn't play at WR even if he wanted to do that.

Poor clock management and dumb penalties at the end doomed Auburn at the end of the game. Statistically, Auburn won but not on the scoreboard.

It’s 49-7 Bama at halftime. I don’t know what the point spread was for this game, but I think it’s safe to say Bama will cover.

By the way, Troy upset Nebraska in Lincoln today. Glad to see another decent football program in Alabama.

SEC Nation is coming to Tuscaloosa next week for A&M at Alabama. A&M has put up 500+ yards each of the last 3 games...one being against Clemson's defense. I have been saying for months now Jimbo is bringing it all for this game. I'm not really sure what to expect...

The only way to beat us is to make Tua look human with confusing coverages and exotic blitz looks. He still will try to force a play when there isn't one, so if A&M can bait him into trying to do that they have a chance. We haven't seen him against a legit SEC defense yet, so this will be our chance to see if he's human after all or if he has a wide open path to the Heisman ceremony in December.

If it turns into a shootout though, we're winning 99/100 times. A&M has to turn this into a defensive slugfest to have a chance.

Another possibility is we just play mental error ball and beat ourselves a-la 2015 Ole Miss. However that's a complete wildcard and there's no way to predict that.

Bramblett and White have become a disgrace to their profession. Stan White has never seen Auburn lose a game. Instead, they've all been robbed from Auburn by the officials and the Red Elephant Club. Bramblett is a very good play by play guy, but after years beside White he's been poisoned and is now just as bad.

The above is embarrassing. It was clear while watching the game the calls were necessary and correct. If they have any dignity they'll publicly admit this and apologize to the officials.

One thing that I am getting nervous about is that two game stretch in November with LSU and Mississippi State. Both teams look legit, and I think Joe Moorehead may be emerging as one of the next elite coaches in college football. He could make Dan Mullen's level of success look paltry by comparison.

I guess the compensation is that Mississippi State is very much a stepping-stone job, and once a big offer from a blue blood comes calling he'll be on the next flight out of Starkville. Hopefully that's only for one or two years at this rate. I could see USC and potentially even FSU bidding for his services after this season.. FSU in particular is interesting because of how much of a dumpster fire of a start the Willie Taggart era has gotten off to, and they may not be patient enough to keep him around if he doesn't start showing improvement by the midway point of the season.
