I'd love to know the mental gymnastics his mother did to somehow drag Trump into this?

No one here is saying Jalen is classless, but I think we're getting a different view of Jalen...frustration we haven't seen because he hasn't had this level of competition. It seems he believes something that was "rightfully" his, the starting QB position, was taken away and no one has gotten his opinion on things. His parents...the same view. Jalen has had ample time to seize the moment and, again, establish himself as the leader of the team after embarrassingly losing it on the biggest stage. Don't forget, Tua was out all spring. But I'm just curious...what was Jalen trying to accomplish with that interview? It sure wasn't trying to "win the team" as Saban has said will be needed for the starting QB role. And as I said, I'm not even sure he is telling THE truth. Not "my truth" as Jalen said. There is only THE truth. She makes a good point. Could have left the political stuff out of it, but otherwise I agree with her.
Jalen was asked a question and he answered from the heart. Would you rather him have liked getting benched? He's a competitor and he's unhappy. Now maybe as he looks back he might wish that he worded things a bit different(or maybe not), but Jalen Hurts has been nothing but class and a leader for the past 2 years. He lost his job on the biggest stage possible. He may or may not have reasons to be a bit disgruntled but to see the way people have turned on him in the last 24 hours is mindblowing and uncalled for.

I can't imagine a false narrative being pushed onto Jalen, or anyone, off the field 24/7. But, again, it was mostly his family's doing that got that ball rolling. Saban hasn't helped though, with that comment at media day.
I've said my piece on this. I don't think this kind of discord is what we need.
From what I've heard/read, Tua has already won the team over. The only controversy related to QBs is why Tua hasn't been publically named yet as the starter. That's the big thing. Throwing everyone under the bus and complaining is about the worst thing you can possibly do to "win the team". All that happens after that is everyone starts talking about you behind your back how once it goes wrong you're gonna throw them under the bus. Nobody wants to be with somebody who makes being the leader about THEM and not about THE TEAM. Nobody else has shown any sort of discontent within the locker room at all. Jalen is the only one doing this, so I'm really, really doubtful that there's some bigger behind the scenes issue that Jalen is trying to paint. If the locker room actually was out of control you'd see players all over rising up to support him. But its been over 48 hours now and there hasn't been a peep from anyone else..
As Stephen Smith said, I was at the natty as well and I agree with him 100%. Not sure what was worse: Jalen's performance, the God awful security to get in thanks to Trump, or the incessant barking by grown men whilst trying to relieve myself in the bathroom.
Stats from a scrimmage can be a funny thing. As someone who has played on a football team (granted, it was high school), scrimmage is when you want to "force" those risky throws. You want to try and fit it in the tight spaces. But the fact he had no TDs to complement those INTs is no good for him. I also read OL and DL are downright nasty. ILB core will be thin, but the first team is very experienced. Don't expect much of a drop off with the secondary...at least that is the way it is looking. We have some elite players in development...Savion Smith, Patrick Surtain, Diondre Thompson, Xavier McKinney and Josh Jobe.Leaked info out of today's scrimmage is saying Tua is definitely in command and its not even really close. Jalen definitely looking like a backup but Saban is going to milk this as a "competition" for at least another week if not longer.
But all in all, the battle is over and Tua will be starting against Louisville barring an injury. Saban is saying that what happened today won't determine who wins the battle at the end but the general consensus is that's just coachspeak to try to keep the media off his heels.
Edit: Leaked stats say Tua threw 4 touchdowns while Jalen was an interception machine with 3 picks. Not sure what the full stat lines for either are though. This is just what I'm hearing through those who were there.

Biggest Question...is development of depth at linebacker. Still getting flashbacks to Stidham looking like Deshaun Watson against us. If only we had an offense that game that could score...or hell get a first down. But even when we were on our 3rd and 4th string LBs...we still managed to keep it within 2 TDs.
The only real QB competition at this point is between Mac Jones and Hurts for the backup spot, IMO.
Posting this yet again, because why not. The amount of times I have watched this play is disgusting, but it never gets old. 2nd and 26 will forever live as the best play to end a national championship.
