So... it is harder to solve a geopolitical crisis like North Korea's illegal nuclear program than just simply agreeing to meet in a meeting (a meeting with no pre-conditions).

Trump actually bought what Kim Jong-Un was selling. Unbelievable. Has he not paid attention to the last 4-5 decades on the Korean peninsula. This is what they do. Allow tensions to ease, relationship starts to improve, promises and commitments are made, etc. Then North Korea finds an excuse to make all the recent progress seem in doubt. It's all intentional. It is meant to extract concessions in exchange for absolutely nothing from the NK side. By all accounts, Trump seems likely to fall for it.

Uh oh...

Some witnesses contradict Kushner’s account he left Trump Tower meeting early.
Was Mr. Kushner present for the entire meeting?
Goldstone: To the best of my knowledge, he was.
QUESTION: Was Mr. Kushner present for the entire meeting?
Kaveladze: My recollection, he was present.

Wait, what?

It’s very possible that even if trump committed a crime, he wouldn’t be indicted until he was out of office. My understanding is that it is against DOJ policy tonindict a president due to the disruption it would cause. They want the president to be removed from office first.

Of course, policy can change.

The way the media is treating Trump in regards to his "animals" quote just shows everything that is wrong with the media.

He says a lot of stupid things and he could've been more clear in his response, but good grief it was immediately following a reference to MS-13 members, yet the media conveniently leaves that part out.

Yep. A combination of a POTUS who has problems correctly articulating his thoughts and a press who will take things out of context gets you things like this.

It was definitely a very poor spate of reporting by the media and obviously due to bias as well as an intent to increase the hysteria about Trump

Trump does and says enough insane stuff that fabrications or exaggerations aren't necessary. It's wrong and definitely not helpful.

That said, does anyone really doubt that in his heart of hearts that Trump sees poor brown illegal aliens as animals?

I watched the full video right after CSPAN posted it and I was blown away by the media's spin job. It wasn't necessary. Totally counter-productive and gave a lot of people more cover to scream "fake news" at stuff they don't like.

But, in a way, I get the frustration. Trump's made racial remarks and has had a tendency to demonize non-whites as long as I can remember. The Central Park 5 is an excellent example. That moron still believes the guys are guilty even though DNA and a plethora of other evidence positively excluded them and implicates someone else.

Something tells me the Mueller report is going to be catastrophically damning for Trump. Lately he's been throwing a lot of red meat at the base. Attending the NRA convention, moving the embassy to Jerusalem, pulling our of Iran deal, desperate for NK meeting, sanctuary city stuff/recent immigration round table, and now the newly announced restrictions on abortion. People have lobbied the admin to re-implement those abortion restrictions since his inauguration. Why now?

The uptick in throwing out platters of red meat coincidences with heightened attacks on Mueller by Trump allies as well as Giuliani's new strategy. That's not accidental. Trump is doing everything he can to discredit Muller and score points with the base before the report gets issued. I think it is even part of why Trump has been playing games about being interviewed. Buys more time.

Mark my words - - we are being shown the entire plan. Sharp increase in attacks to discredit Mueller and a "look at all the Republican things I did and what you'll lose if I'm impeached" narrative that is being built.

Question: will the GOP overlook everything short of actually murdering someone on 5th Avenue in an attempt to keep and consolidate policy gains? And using the excuse that Mueller isn't credible and it's all a partisan witch-hunt to justify it? Seems to me that's exactly what is building. It's so Nixonian.

Is journalistic integrity lower than ever in recent history? Or is this a product of information being so readily available that mistakes are more routinely caught? Either way, this is not a pleasant look at so-called "reputable" news sources (I applaud them for at least issuing corrections). A combo of agenda driven outlets and/or the "rush" to be the first to break the story lead to nonsense like this. Get all the facts and then CHECK them. A simple google search could've easily eliminated half of these corrections. I get the feel that some of these corrections were in response to an agenda driven publication....

Still not as many lies or mistakes as the Trump administration, which I hold to a higher standard.

I think the media rushes to get the story out too quickly without doing adequate editorial work.

I don't think it benefits ANYONE to point fingers and blame who lies the most. But, anyone who actually believes the White House (or any administration for that matter) doesn't act partisan is very foolish (and I think that now goes for the media). That isn't an excuse for putting out falsehoods and propaganda by either the admin or the media. However, the AP and many other sites DO in fact brand themselves as bipartisan and have a reputation for being reliable sources (I would never consider Trump a reliable source of anything but hot air). I'm not saying these mistakes now make them untrustworthy, but we need to stop with the yellow journalism....see the "animals" comments by Trump that the media ran with. I didn't think I'd ever see the day when the media would defend Hamas and MS-13 in the same week. But I also didn't think we'd see Donald Trump as president. Shows you how much my thoughts are worth.

Don't worry, the media is there to call out Trump when he lies. Do we have the same for the media?
