Every revamp of the coaching staff show Saban isn't retiring ANY time soon. If I kid coming into college can't see that for himself, well so be it.
Saban famously said..."We're not done...yet!"

What bothered me was when Kirby left in 2015, he physically took recruiting evaluations from the Mal Moore athletic facility. In no world can you go to a former work and begin lifting private information to use against that former employer. You can respectable and ruthless, but that is flat out dirty.

He also snapped pictures of the big board and used it to show recruits where Bama had them ranked if they were ranked below others at their position.

They didn't part on good terms and it soured their relationship for sure. Kirby certainly seems to be taking the low road, and I must say I am surprised.

You know that is an contract issue. There should have been a clause in his employment contract that forbids that type of behavior. I used to see these in the contracting world all the time. Directors, Managers and VP's were forbidden to recruit or hire employees of their former company or attempt to recruit the clients of a former company for a year (in one case it was three years) after termination or resignation. There was a significant penalty for this type of breech. Maybe they learned their lesson in Tuscaloosa.

I was surprised at how the Georgia fan base was handling themselves throughout the game. At halftime, I was in the bathroom of the stadium and I was constantly being harassed and barked at...AS I WAS USING THE FACILITIES. Like what kind of adult does that? Much less to a student of the opposing school...most of them were probably armchair fans anyway.

It was nice not hearing the barking as we exited the stadium. They were just all grumbling and staggering in shock.

Oh, I don't think anyone believes Saban is retiring in the next three years. I don't want him too. I want to see the team I cheer for eventually break through and beat him.

On the last matter, why haven't charges been filed against Kirby if that claim is true? That's theft of property.

Drunk people and morons do a lot of things. Look, every fan base has it's idiots. Alabama is very famous for them. However, I'm glad they were harassing you, a student of the opposing team, and not some woman or kid. You won the game. That's all the satisfaction you need. You seem like a nice guy, so when I say this I'm not trying to be a jerk...but don't let idiots at a football game hurt your feelings. Have thicker skin.

Also, lets be real, the majority of Alabama and Georgia fans in that stadium were likely sidewalk alumni. Those are your top two sidewalk fan bases in the college football world.

No doubt. Alabama is probably the most publicized school for having fans that go over the top...even criminal stuff. I'm not making out Alabama to be some Mother Theresa school. But, I just see a lot of defense of Kirby when he left Bama after taking recruiting info (it wasn't criminal, because he was departing DC at the time, so it was as much his info). But does that make it morally right? Not at all. It shows the kind of integrity he has and I'm not sure why Georgia's fan base is so defensive over him when he was 100% in the wrong.

I have been a vocal opponent of Saban's "second chance" methodology...especially when it came to the robbery and assault of a student on campus by 4 of his players. That is still the biggest black mark on his tenure at Alabama, in my opinion. Yes, people can rightfully criticize their coach when they make decisions that aren't always for the best. As a student at the time who was walking the campus with someone who part in a violent robbery of a fellow student...it certainly shook me up.

Regarding the whole encounter with Georgia fans, yeah it left a sour taste in my mouth. I've been to many bowl games when it meant something. We were treated respectfully by Clemson, Ohio State, and Michigan State fans. A lot of my encounters with Georgia fans were quite negative. No matter how thick your skin is...it won't prepare you for being harassed whilst relieving yourself at a urinal.

Saban dodged a question asking if Jalen was gonna be here for fall camp. I think he may know more than he's letting on regarding the QB battle.

Unfortunately UGA fans are why all the buildings are locked on campus during gameday now. They trashed Bidgood and a couple others during the 2007 game in Tuscaloosa.

Like anywhere though, I'm sure it was a small minority that ruined for the rest of them.

Oh, I agree. Kirby is a very charming, yet negative recruiter. It worked for him at Alabama too. Recruits eat it up. I think a lot of Georgia fans look at claims like this as bitterness from Alabama fans. When it comes to rumors like the big board, I just like giving Alabama fans a hard time. I certainly believe Kirby is capable of doing everything claimed. I'm just hesitant to trust what anonymous sources tell the Tuscaloosa News, BOL, or any Alabama insider network.

I think your experience was the exception and not the rule. It certainly sounds like there were a healthy number of drunk, obnoxious Georgia fans there. Bark back next time. They won't know what to do.

It is true, and there's no legal claim here. It would never get to court. Its not worth even trying.

I appreciate that Butch Jones was a good coach at CMU and all but his recent career trajectory has been nothing short of hilarious.

Home-and-home with Texas just announced for 2022 and 2023.

I'm really liking what Greg Byrne is doing with the schedule. He seems to be listening to the calls from fans to add more marquee home and homes and not just neutral site games.

Not sure why UA went to these neutral site openers year after year. Home and home games with big name teams bring A LOT of money to the region.

That, and it looks better on the resume at the end of the year.

It would be different if we played big time neutral site games like USC and Florida State yearly, but these next few coming up are borderline cupcakes. Louisville this year and Duke in Atlanta next year. Come on, really? They couldn't find anyone better than the ACC's doormat to play in Atlanta? At least Louisville would have been compelling if Lamar Jackson stayed, but since he's gone the biggest story is gonna be are we beating them by 40 or 50 and which of our QBs is going to be leading the beatdown.
