Severe Weather Threat June 15-23

I know Freddy has helped a family before, he has it on his YouTube channel. This is the dark side of storm chasing unfortunately. While he does want to forget that night, it’s high likely he won’t forget about it. That tornado above in the video is definitely the scariest tornado I've ever tracked and seen. Hands down. May the ones who passed rest in peace.

It’s your scariest @Brice W really?

Wow it definitely was scary for sure with the cloud that low you can almost touch it literally but according to James Pettus apparently that was a wall cloud in the video who I think originally discovered the footage
It was in fact the meso but usually when you see a meso like that you have a big tornado down. This was similar how the Louisville MS 2014 tornado looked when it came to structure.
I want to also mention I was talking about the video before the TikTok when you can clearly see the ongoing wedge.

Yes it was a wall cloud, but usually when you see wall cloud you don’t have a clear updraft like that unless you have a tornado down. This was similar how the Louisville MS 2014 tornado looked when it came to structure.

Oh gotcha sorry I didn’t see that part

Just absurd structure on that supercell. Considering the parameter space and the nudge effect from the line, I think this is a top 5 tornado of the decade by pure intensity. Super short tracked though.
According to Andy Hill, this was a top 25 all-time radar couplet, although it should be mentioned that most older storms (super outbreak, El Reno Piedmont) are lower definition radar, which typically (though not always) return lower vorticity than the super-res we have today.

On second glance, maybe closer to top 10; Comparable tornadoes since 2015 are as follows:
Mayfield 2021 (134) EF4
Hollister 2024 (108-125) EF1 <-!!!!!
Bassfield 2020 (105-120) EF4
Amory 2023 (107-115) EF3
Elkhorn 2024 (102-112) EF4
Plevna 2025 (77-112) EF3
Creta 2024 (107) EF2
Cole 2023 (106) EF3

Mayfield is likely quite a bit oversampled
Any tor with a range was manually dealiased, see website for details. I have heard rumors of our storm from last night needing a little bit of dealiasing, but I'm not sure.

I am waiting to see that as well. Hopefully someone can find it and make it public. That will be extremely fascinating to see. I don’t know how often they chase. Never heard or seen them mentioned since Bridge Creek.
Yeah same it’s sort of fascinating to me apparently they are out maybe a few times per weather event if not more
