I mean I never heard of any SPC staff members being cut when the NWS budget cuts went crew. My money is on them just liking their forecast.

Yeah I get it I guess if nothing changes. I just always like to see what different forecasters think.

Can't remember the last time this-large-a-chunk of Ohio was in an MD. Ohio's mostly stayed out of the bad weather we saw last year (ahem, Lakeview, ahem) but seems we may see some action today.

Even if the SPC based their outlook accounting for the unfavorable wind vectors and went with a 10% hatched or even the experimental 5% hatched, it still would’ve been a bu$t.

Isn't there a method to the forecasting from the SPC? I'm assuming if there wasn't then everyday could technically be a high/moderate risk.

We had a brief downpour here in the Columbus metro, but storm structure was impossible to see because I was right under it as opposed to at a distance. Also, a lot of trees here, so not ideal for storm viewing.

Almost opposite situation as yesterday as surface winds are due east which should allow storms to really maximize the srh, which is probably why the HRRR is showing the crazy helicity streaks
