We'll see in a few years if Battle's hire in Avery Johnson is similar to Saban's hire for football. Some big recruiting coming in to the basketball program and I think there are some bright years ahead for that program (I, for one, was critical of Johnson, but I don't mind admitting my mistake). But his tenure has been very successful...most notably retaining Saban.
I like this new hire. He has pulled in some big name and successful coaches to both MSU and Arizona. I like how they broke the ranks and hired someone who was never associated with the school. Respect the past tradition, but continue and exceed the level of success that has been established since Mal Moore. That's all I ask.
