Why do people want to advance conservatism or liberalism? They should be wanting to advance the country. Sticking to one side or the other is a large part of the problems we have today. People only stick to what their "team" wants and instead of truly studying an issue, they take a simple approach to a complex problem.

Conservatism does advance the country. Liberalism does not.

I have not verified if this is actually a Tweet by Pence. But, it does make a good point.

I don't believe I oversimplified anything.
You did. If you approach a problem in the country, by saying, "I'm going to look at this issue, and then take the conservative approach" you have eliminated many possible solutions. There are tremendous advantages to approaching a problem without preconceptions.

I will have eliminated "liberal" solutions which 99.9% of the time are bad, wrong and create an even bigger problem.

I wish we were all as enlightened as you are

Seems like Trump is willing to sign off on a budget that gives the Democrats pretty much everything they want (no spending cuts, funding PP, no border wall funds, etc). What did he extract in return? That the government won't be shutdown?

Drain the swamp by importing more alligators and mosquitoes?

Even Cruz had enough backbone to stand up for his promises back in 2013 and deal with the backlash of the shutdown. Very disappointed in Trump.

I am a very political person. I have a degree in Political Science. However, I am about sick of politics. I'm just sick of promises of this and that from Republicans, and their constant "We need this first" or "The real budget comes in September" crap. The Republicans continue to fail their supporters even with both houses of Congress and the Presidency. The Democrats keep winning, despite being in the minority. They're just biding their time.

I sometimes feel like the only long-term positive and legacy that this Presidency will have is keeping the Supreme Court from going way left, or maybe even swinging it back right.

I guess I am just frustrated.

I see the left-wing ANTIFA terrorists are out in full force rioting in Portland. Time for authorities to step on this cockroach of a movement, whose sole purpose is to terrorize.

ANTIFA, and associated left-wing radicals, are a bigger threat to American ideals and way of life than ISIS....

Trump needs to realize Ryan and the establishment are not his friends. He cannot trust them. He will come to this conclusion sooner rather than later.

George Soros and some holdover Obama folks are supporting this movement. They( Soros and crew) are a clear and present danger to national security and should be dealt with accordingly.

I think they caved unnecessarily. The dems desperately wanted a government shutdown because the Republicans always get the blame when that happens. I believe they chose to not fight that fight this year and take it on with the 2018 budget. I don't agree with them but I believe that is their thinking.
