What were the questions, KoD? More than half Americans believe this is the lowest point in our nation's history in terms of what? Morality? Patriotism? Manners? Civility? World peace? Religious persecution? What? It's hard to agree with or dispute something without knowing the specifics.

Some people choose to add their political agenda to the topic so I intentionally left it vague because I didn't want to do the same thing - as that wouldn't be accurate. The economy, money, healthcare and crime were listed as the top stressors IIRC.

This may be oversimplifying it but if we look at what is different today than in previous generations it is the rise of the internet, the 24 hour news cycle, and social media. There is no escaping bad news. We are inundated with it from the moment we wake up to the time we go to bed. It's on our phones, our computers, our televisions. We can't go out to eat without it being above the bar on their TV monitor. It's literally everywhere all the time. All. The. Time. It's really no wonder people think we live in the worst of times. We are being told on a continuous loop how hopeless things are. And yes, there are a lot things going on in this country and in this world that are heartbreaking. Social justice, racial tensions, and crime in the streets. Wars and famines. The list goes on. But none of these things are new and all have been going on since the beginning of time. Are they worse today? I don't know. But the quickness that news travels today vs past generations and the frequency in which we hear them can make it appear so. It's certainly one of the reason why I stopped turning on the television altogether.

It's truly disappointing to me. It's a psychology study, but there's so much in this world to appreciate and love. Many folks get so wrapped up in the down sides of life that it makes them depressed, stressed, mad or scared. That stuff will always be going on in our lifetime, and it's important to identify that it's there, but it shouldn't take away from the many good things we can be thankful for. If I were asked that question, I'd consider the technological advances we've made and promptly say "no".

Sean Hannity going to "war" with Keurig may be the most sad, pathetic thing in a year that has been ruled by sad and pathetic. Hannity is the absolute worst. I don't think there's one redeemable or good thing about the man.

This was true until a few days ago, but his interview with Moore actually was the turning point in the entire Moore debacle. He actually did an OK job with the interview. Completely ironic.

Surprised the vile attack by a leftist on Rand Paul hasn’t even been mentioned on here once. Reports are that he was struggling breathe and talk due to 6 broken ribs. Lack of media coverage is not surprising. Does it not fit the narrative?

It's just not a very exciting story given everything else that is going on. But, it is being covered.

I saw lots of media coverage on several stations for about a week after it happened... then the coverage slowed down

I think once everyone realized it was supposedly a landscaping disagreement the story lost its sizzle.

I have a feeling had the neighbor been Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, or Obama, instead of Rand Paul, he probably wouldn’t have taken that route to settle a “landscaping” disagreement. No one will know the truth, but there appears to be politically motivated anger here. “Landscaping” probably is what pushed him over the top.

I think we both know if the political affiliations were reversed it would have been a much bigger story. The attacker would have been "outed" as a member of the NRA and any political contributions would have been dug up.

Sessions’ testimony was a farce. He literally used ineptness as an excuse and effectively filibustered the time allotted for his questioning. Guilty as sin.
